Yes, that was how I began my day... turns out there was a gas leak in NJ - and the principal wanted us to close the windows.

Actually, in this case, it was MANHATTAN that smelled - and it turned out in the end that they only thought it was NJ - because you and the investigators obviously share the same bias :) - and they could not conclusively determine where the smell was from.
