Blogging in verse on a Shavuot evening

(Well, before a Shavuot evening...)
Snoozing in Shul on a Shavuot Evening
(with apologies to Mr. Frost)
Whose shiur is this that I ignore?
Mediocre, I am sure
They will not see me sleeping here
Unless I give a great big snore
The goyim surely think it queer
The way Jews gather far and near
For all-night learning, dairy cake
Each and every single year
My neighbor gives my arm a shake
He thinks I've made a big mistake
To doze through lectures wise and deep
"You know you want to stay awake!"
"Stay awake?" I want to weep
But that's the minhag that we keep
And hours to go before we sleep
And hours to go before we sleep
(And yes, I expect to fall asleep before the night is over. This poem began with the last line for a reason. So tired... and the learning hasn't even started yet)
